Finishes Home in the UI language v2, to the Figma frames Desktop · Home (40:1956 / 40:2427), Phone · Home (54:2 / 58:1459) and the Home parts, Board icon, Faces and Due components, light and dark.

What changed

  • A large title at every width: Home over today's date (weekday, day, month; home.date and cal.day.* in en and de), with a primary New board beside it from 600px. The phone keeps its large title and the account face (#243).
  • For you shows its count. Each card is the board's mark and name, the title, then the due chip and the faces of whoever is on the card. The chip says Today or Tomorrow in orange (a clock) and turns red when overdue (its own glyph), so colour is never the only signal. ForYouService now returns AssigneeDids in place of IsMine, read with the titles of the six it keeps. These are plaintext DIDs, one more statement under the split default, and no member rows. Six cards sit across on a desk; where they don't fit the strip scrolls, and on a phone it always does.
  • Board tiles: the board's mark, a pin glyph in the corner when pinned, the name, 17 cards · 6 to do, a segmented progress bar in the board's colour, and a foot saying who can see it with faces (N people, Everyone, Only you). Hovering a tile adds the cog beside the pin. The miniature of the columns is gone, as on the canvas. The New board tile is recessed.
  • Phone: the boards are one inset grouped list. Each row has the mark, the name over the counts, the pin as a mark and a chevron, and New board is the last row. Edit on the list's label turns each row's pin and cog into 40px buttons.
  • Recently deleted is a v2 grouped list: the mark, the name over until …, and Restore.
  • /?new=1 opens the New board form (Home.NewBoard). The sidebar's New board (ui-v2-board) uses it, and the page takes the query off once it has acted on it.
  • Entrance: the tiles' progress fills in segment by segment, where the miniature's dashes used to.

Judgement calls

  • "To do" is the first column. It is the bar's grey segment, and it is what the default To Do column means. The canvas agrees: its Summer fair is 6 / 4 / 7, shown as "17 cards · 6 to do" with a grey segment of 6. Counting everything outside the last column would make the words and the bar disagree on every board that has a middle column. Both numbers come from the per-column counts GetTilesAsync already returns, so they cost no query.
  • No lock on Only you. docs/boards-and-permissions.md rules out a lock because private is the ordinary case, so Only you gets a one-figure glyph, the single version of people.
  • Everyone's faces are the deployment's members who are not banned, which is who Everyone is. N people are the grants.
  • Edit only reveals the pin and the cog. The order is pins, then last opened, so there is nothing to drag. Leaving a pin on every row at rest would get tapped by accident.
  • Due chip and faces: Faces.razor is byte-identical to ui-v2-board's, so the two branches merge cleanly. Its styles, and the Due chip's states, are scoped to Home (.home …, .foryou-card …). When ui-v2-board lands, its global .card-due-* and face rules make these scoped copies redundant, and they can go.

Verified

  • tools/verify.sh: build and 584 unit tests green.
  • Full e2e on an isolated copy of the test stack: 162 passed, 0 failed, no flakes, in one run.
  • home.spec.js: the tile's bar, the title's New board, /?new=1, the soon chip, the faces staying right with and without a date, and a new phone test for the list rows and Edit.
  • Screenshots compared side by side with the frames at 1440×900 and 390×844, light and dark, plus a 768px tablet in German.

Finishes Home in the UI language v2, to the Figma frames *Desktop · Home* (40:1956 / 40:2427), *Phone · Home* (54:2 / 58:1459) and the *Home parts*, *Board icon*, *Faces* and *Due* components, light and dark. ## What changed - **A large title at every width**: *Home* over today's date (weekday, day, month; `home.date` and `cal.day.*` in en and de), with a primary **New board** beside it from 600px. Home now matches the canvas's Home frames, desk and phone, light and dark.

- A large title at every width, today's date under it, and New board beside
  it on a desk.
- For you carries its count; each card shows the board's mark and name, the
title, then the due chip (Today/Tomorrow in orange, overdue in red, each
with its own glyph) and the faces of whoever is on it. ForYouService reads
those assignee DIDs with the titles of the six it keeps.
- A tile is the board's mark, name, "17 cards · 6 to do" (the first column),
a progress bar from the per-column counts (done first, to do grey), and a
foot saying who can see it with faces. The pin is its corner; the cog joins
it on hover. The miniature is gone, as on the canvas.
- On a phone the boards are one inset grouped list with New board as the last
row; Edit turns each row's pin and cog into buttons.
- Recently deleted is a grouped list.
- /?new=1 opens the New board form, for the sidebar's New board.

🛑 Verdict: request changes — blocking issues below.

The Home rework reads well. ForYouService still reads only plaintext DIDs and the six picked titles, and the tile counts and segments reuse the per-column counts. Segments and Counts only index ColumnCardCounts[0] when CardCount > 0, so a board with no columns is safe. The ?new=1 handling avoids the prerender redirect trap, and the docs are updated alongside the code.

One blocker against CLAUDE.md: this PR changes what a member sees, but Services/Changelog.cs isn't in the diff, so nothing was added to Changelog.Unreleased. The convention asks for a line in both locales, in the same PR. The change is clearly noticeable: the large title with the date, the redesigned tiles and phone list, the due chip and faces in the For you strip, and Edit.

One minor point, not blocking: /?new=1 on a deployment with no boards sets _creating, but the form is only rendered in the tiles branch. I didn't confirm whether .home-empty shows it. It's worth a check or a one-line test.

✅ Verdict: approve — no blocking issues found.

This is a big, careful change, and it holds together. Things I specifically chased:

  • /?new=1 lifecycle. The OnParametersSet → StartNewBoard() → NavigateTo("/", replace: true) guarded by RendererInfo.IsInteractive matches the proven ?card= pattern in BoardPage.OpenSharedCard, and the empty-state branch handles ?new=1 too (the _creating check flips Count == 0 && !_creating to render the form among the tiles). Good.
  • ColumnCardCounts[0] in Counts is only reached when CardCount > 0, which implies a non-empty list, so no index risk; Segments handles empty boards with the single grey track.
  • Day indexing: ((int)Today.DayOfWeek + 6) % 7 matches the cal.day.0 = Monday … cal.day.6 = Sunday entries and the repo's WeekdayShort Monday-0 convention, in both locales.
  • Due chip states compose correctly with the existing global .card-due / .card-due-overdue rules; the scoped rules only rescale and re-glyph, and .later falls through to the neutral global look as intended.
  • Faces from grants: people. All(m => m.Did == _viewer.Did) on an empty grant list yields "Only you", which is right for the private case; _everyone as non-banned members matches who an Everyone board actually admits (DbAllowlistService, AssigneePicker).

Non-blocking observations, no action required:

  • For-you cards now show faces for whoever is on the card, including members who have since been banned; they are still the assignees of record, so arguably correct, but worth a thought if a banned member remains on a card someone still sees.
  • .foryou-strip uses grid-auto-columns: minmax(176px, …) per-card, so card widths can vary a few pixels with content (the old flex row had a fixed width). With six cards across this is likely imperceptible and the screenshots were compared, so I read it as deliberate.

Verified the locale additions are complete on both locales (home.date, home.todo, home.people, home.edit(.done), cal.tomorrow, cal.day.0–6, and the removed home.foryou.mine has no remaining consumer). The tests cover the new phone list, the ?new=1 round trip, and the chip states. Good to merge.

✅ Verdict: approve — no blocking issues found.

The blocker from my last pass is fixed. Services/Changelog.cs now adds a "Home, redone" line to Unreleased in both locales, and the two attachment lines are merged to make room for it.

The minor /?new=1 question is also settled. The empty state only renders when _tiles.Count == 0 && !_creating, so with no boards and _creating set, the page falls through to the tiles branch and shows the form. The title's New board button is hidden while there are no tiles, which matches the docs.

I read the code and diff only; I didn't run the build or the e2e specs.

Nothing else blocks merging.

✅ Verdict: approve — no blocking issues found.

Re-review of the current head: merging is safe. Everything that blocked earlier (the Changelog.Unreleased entry) is in, and the pieces that needed checking off hold together in the current tree: /?new=1 → StartNewBoard → NavigateTo(replace: true) matches the proven ?card= pattern; ColumnCardCounts[0] is only indexed when CardCount > 0; Segments handles the empty board with the single grey track; the weekday index math matches cal.weekday.long.0 = Monday; the .home-glyph, home-scoped .card-due-* and .home .card-assignees rules all compose correctly with the global ones; Faces.razor is byte-identical to the ui-v2-board copy as claimed, so the branch merges cleanly; and cal.day.0–6 and the new home.* keys are present in both locales with home.foryou.mine and the old board-mini CSS fully gone.

The new phone spec measures the row geometry and exercises Edit with toPass timeouts, so the entrance's segment scale-in shouldn't flake it. auth-enter.js correctly reads .home-foryou .home-title before .home-boards .home-title, matching both home-section-head footers in Home.razor.

Non-blocking:

  • home.count shows _forYou.Count, which is capped at six, so "For you · 6" describes the strip, not the number of matching cards waiting behind the cap. Probably intentional (it says what is on screen), worth a second thought if it reads as a queue length.
  • MembersIn on item.AssigneeDids will yield an empty array for a DID that has left _members since the DIDs were stored. Doesn't apply in practice, and the faces DIDs are the assignees of record either way.
  • The scoped .home .card-assignees and .home .assignee-avatar[style*="--h"] rules are deliberate scaffolding until ui-v2-board lands and clears them, per the PR note; nothing to change now.
